New Tools

I didn’t really use new tools to create my budget for the Financial Analysis project.  I was already familiar with Excel and it’s a good tool to use for calculations.  I looked at some of the other tools online and they seemed more difficult for me to use.

For the next assignment, I have been brainstorming ideas for the Teach project. Some of my ideas include:

  • How to use NetMeeting (I have worked with the program before and it can be very confusing)
  • How to set up a projector with a laptop or desktop
  • How to use the Telecommunication Lab in Covell Hall
  • How to use a PolyCom

I will keep thinking of ideas throughout the week.

My Biggest Dreams

I have many dreams I want to accomplish in my life. Here are a few of mine:

1) Own a bookstore.  Bookstores make me happier than any other place; I would love to have my own.

2) Have children.  I want to be able to financial support my children the same way I was raised; it’s something that will need to be planned.

3) Not work for awhile. I’m always finding things to fill my time; being able to not do anythign but relax would be challenging, yet rewarding.

4) Get my MBA after college.  I love the school and learning atmosphere at universities.

5) Travel to Bali, Indonsia. After reading the book Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, I have had a desire to visit the beautiful island and experience the same things she did.

I’m going to choose number 5) Travel to Bali for my financial analysis.  What would happen if I just bought a plane ticket and left school next term to live in Bali for 8 weeks?

Almost done!

I’m very glad we made this site.  I learned a lot about making a blog.  When I get out of school and want to keep in touch with my friends, this would be a very good way.  I have kind of struggle with the copyright of the pictures, but I got them from google, so I think it’s fine.

For my Finanaical Analysis, I’m going to do something about traveling or opening my own bookstore.  These are not dreams I want to accomplish now, but later in my life so I might change.  I’m still thinking about it.

Overwhelmed!

I have a section more to do on the report before I upload the information.  Writing about Lillian’s life was very interesting this weekend; she is someone I look up to when studying Industrial Engineering and would love to aspire to.

I am struggling with getting statistical information pertaining to Lilian Gilbreth.  I plan to contact the Valley Librarian tomorrow to see if she can help me with information.  I might use the number of woman engineering in the field of Industrial Engineering as a starting place.  She was a pioneer for Woman in Engineering and without her contributions I’m not sure where we would be today.

I will write again after I upload the report and experience uses Pages and in-text web links.
